Genre, portrait and history painter, etcher and engraver; b. at Dordrecht, d. in Utrecht; son of Cornelis Bloemaert; pupil of Joost de Beer in Utrecht; 1580-83 pupil of H. Francken in Paris; 1591-92 in Amsterdam.

Jan Harmensz. Muller (1571 - 1628)
Engraver, etcher and publisher. He learned the tricks of the trade from his father. Later he become an engraver in the Mannerist style unther the influence of Hendrick Goltzius, with whom he may have studied. Muller worked for Goltzius workshop until about 1589. From 1590 on, the majority of Muller's prints bear his father address. He continued 'Den Vergulden Passer' workshop with his sister Maritge.
